Automotive Armor,2003 Steel,Fiberglass, polycarbonate, electronics, Automotive paint 20" X 24" X 30" conceptualizes behavior patterns between humans in the car verses face-to-face encounters Would we ever behave on foot the same way we behave while isolated in the car? |
Imagine if we could all act the same way on foot as we do in the car. Some of us would cut off old ladies; we’d honk the horn at any moment of impatience, and, of course, some would yell and curse, all thanks to the protection provided by the physicality of the car.
The Automotive Armor is a way to investigate the behavioral patterns that we have towards each other in a car versus face to face. It is a wearable car that is built like a suit of armor. The Automotive Armor has working headlights; complete with high and low beams, which allow one to communicate with those around them. It also is equipped with a horn to help expedite movement when there is something holding up human traffic.
